DG Then & Now - The Centre Fuselage

At 95ft long and 16ft wide, the largest section of Delta Golf to be transported to Brooklands was the centre fuselage. When it arrived at the museum on 5th June 2004, it looked rather sad and forlorn. In truth, although it looked fairly bad, the structure was actually in very good condition. After its arrival it was reattached to the forward and rear fuselage section using aluminium doubler plates by engineers from Air Salvage International. Volunteers then sanded down any surface corrosion and applied two coats of primer and two coats of 'Concorde White' top coat. The final task was to apply the blue cheatline and the British Airways titles of the British Airways 'Negus & Negus' livery that DG wore throughout her operational life.
